  • You gather the essence of the Lake, a powerful source of magic with unknown properties. Due to this nature, your spells can harm you. You have a pool of 100 Pure Essence, each attack consumes a little Pure Essence. You can gather Pure Essence in combat; outside of combat the pool refills itself naturally. Friendly players can take damage from certain abilities, but only if they are in combat.

R1. Essence Extraction <Core Ability> For the next 10 seconds you extract Pure Essence from the air around you at a rate of 10 per second. This ability will end if you break your concentration. No Cost, 10s Cast, No CD

R1. Lady’s Lance <Sacred Waters> You fire a bolt of water filled with the spirit of the lady, dealing ‘x’ elemental damage to your opponent. This ability costs 5 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 30AP, 2s Cast, No CD, 100ft Range

R1. Crystal Vial <Pure Blood> You hurl a fragile vial of a volatile essence at your opponent dealing ‘x’ corporeal damage to theme very second for 12 seconds. This ability costs 5 Pure Essence. This ability has a 15% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 30AP, 1s Cast, No CD, 60ft Range

R2. Giving of Self <Sacred Waters> You channel your own purity and release a burst of power that deals ‘x’ damage to your opponent. This ability does not cost any Pure Essence and has a 0% chance of dealing damage to you. 35AP, 1.5s Cast, No CD, 100ft Range

R3. Shroud of Innocence <Core Ability> All group mates within 100 feet are Enchanted with a shroud of the Lady’s purity, increasing their spiritual resistance by 100 for 60 minutes. 40AP, Instant Cast, No CD, No Range

R4. Begone Foul Being <Detaunt> You detaunt your target, making them to hate you less and causing them to deal 50% less damage to you for 15 seconds. If you attack anyone you have detaunted, the effect will immediately end. 20AP, Instant Cast, 15s CD, 100ft Range

R5. Virtue Prevails <Pure Blood> You tear into your opponents flesh attacking their corrupted blood dealing ‘x’ corporeal damage and decreasing their toughness by ‘x’ for 10 seconds. This ability costs 5 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 35AP, 1s Cast, No CD, 60ft Range

R6. Updraft <Chaste Soul> You emit the purity that is within and deal ‘x’ spiritual damage to all enemies within 20 feet of you. This ability costs 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 35% chance to damage you and all friendly players within 20 feet for ‘x’. 35AP, Instant Cast, No CD, No Range

R7. Back-flow <Pure Blood> You corrupt your enemy’s blood causing it to flow backwards and slow their movements. You deal ‘x’ corporeal damage and reduce their movement speed by 40% for 10 seconds. This ability costs 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 10% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 25AP, 1s Cast, 15s CD, 60ft Range

R8. Mage Bolt <Archtype Morale 1> A focused blast that deals 600 damage and knocks the targeted player away. Monsters will be knocked down.

R8. Glacial Melt <Sacred Waters> You shoot the pure icy waters at your enemy dealing ‘x’ elemental damage and reducing all their resistances by ‘x’ for 10 seconds. This ability costs 5 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 30AP, 1s Cast, 10s CD, 100ft Range

R9. Font of Virtue <Core Ability> You are blessed by the divine waters of the Lake and remove one hex, ailment, or curse from yourself. 30AP, Instant Cast, 15s CD, No Range

R10. Exorcism <Chaste Soul> You attempt to purge your enemies of the corruption from within. You deal ‘x’ spiritual damage to your target and all enemies within 30 feet of your target. This ability costs 5 Pure Essence. This ability has a 25% chance to damage you and all friendly players in the field of fire for ‘x’ damage. 30AP, 3s Cast, 3s CD, 80ft Range

R11. Gallantry War <Racial Tactic> You heed the call to war and your Action Points pool is increased by 50

R12. Siphon Power <Archtype Morale 2> Steals up to 200 Action Points from your target and gives them to you, and reduces your target’s Intelligence by 160 for 30 seconds.

R12. Divine Light <Core Ability> All enemies within 30 feet become Rooted, making them unable to move for 10 seconds. Rooted targets have a 50% chance to break free when they suffer damage. 25AP, Instant Cast, 30s CD

R13. Devour Energy <Archtype Tactic> Whenever one of your spells hits an enemy, you have a 25% chance to regain 30 Action Points. This effect cannot occur more than once every 2 seconds.

R14. Virgin Tears <Sacred Waters> You blast your enemy with the tears of Bretonnia’s victims dealing ‘x’ elemental damage. This ability costs 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 40AP, 1s Cast, No CD, 100ft Range

R15. Leading By Example <Tactic> Giving of Self will now regenerate 5 Pure Essence

R16. Misdirection <Archtype Morale 1> You gain a strong counter aura for the next 10 seconds that will reduce half of any incoming Magic damage and redirect half of any direct damage back to the caster.

R16. Righteous Cascade <Chaste Soul> You release an overpowering wave of virtue at your foul enemies dealing ‘x’ spiritual damage to all enemies in a 60 foot cone in front of you. This ability costs 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 25% chance to deal ‘x’ damage to you and all friendly players in the field of fire. 35AP, Instant Cast, 5s CD, No Range

R17. Pure of Blood <Racial Tactic> Your corporeal resistance is increased by 252

R18. Damned Warrior <Pure Blood> You curse your enemy and cause is blood to fight back against him dealing ‘x’ corporeal damage to him every time he uses a melee ability for 10 seconds. This ability costs 5 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 30AP, 1s Cast, 10s CD, 60ft Range

R19. Endless Knowledge <Archtype Tactic> Increase your Intelligence by 160

R20. Focused Mind <Archtype Morale 2> For the next 10 seconds you will remove and ignore any silencing, disarming, rooting, snaring effects and your abilities will build 50% faster and may not be set back.

R20. Spirit of Gilles <Chaste Soul> You channel the spirit of the father of Bretonnia, focusing on a spot on the ground and dealing ‘x’ spiritual damage to all targets within 35 feet of it. This ability costs 8 Pure Essence per second. This ability has a 40% chance to deal ‘x’ damage to yourself and all friendly targets in the field of fire. 20AP/s, 5s Cast, 10s CD, 100ft Range

R21. Divine Armor <Tactic> Your Armor is increased by 600

R23. King’s Own <Racial Tactic> Your damage output is increased by 10%

R24. Scintillating Wave <Archtype Morale 3> Deals 1200 damage to your target, and staggers them for 15 seconds preventing all actions until they take damage.

R25. Sleight of Hand <Archtype Tactic> Enemy monsters will hate you 50% less than normal

R25. Purge Corruption <Pure Blood> You fill your enemy with a potent spell attempting to quickly purge them of their evil, you deal ‘x’ corporeal damage to your enemy every second for 6 seconds. This ability costs 5 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 35AP, Instant Cast, No CD, 60ft Range

R27. Flooded Heart <Tactic> Back-flow will do ‘x’ corporeal damage every other second for its duration

R28. Deflective Shield <Prophetess Morale 1> For the next 10 seconds your chance to be critically hit is reduced by 50%

R29. Close Quarters <Archtype Tactic> Your abilities will build 50% faster if within 20 feet of your target

R30. Pious Restoration <Core Ability> You consume your Pure Essence to fight longer and you regain 100 Action Points over 5 seconds. This ability costs 20 Pure Essence. No Cost, Instant Cast, 30s CD

R31. Decaying Flesh <Tactic> Damned Warrior will also reduce your targets weapon skill by ‘x’

R32. Downpour <Prophetess Morale 2> You summon a cloud on your target that follows them for 30 seconds, decreasing their initiative, toughness, and weapon skill by 120.

R33. Determination <Tactic> Your chance to be disrupted is decreased by 10%

R35. Heavy Deluge <Sacred Waters> You unleash a crushing wall of water on your enemy dealing ‘x’ elemental damage and knocking them down for 3 seconds. This ability costs 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 40AP, 1s Cast, 20s CD, 100ft Range

R35. Flood of the Ages <Tactic> The knockdown for Heavy Deluge is increased to 5 seconds, but its cooldown is increased to 45 seconds

R36. Clear Conduit <Prophetess Morale 3> For the next 12 seconds your abilities will cost 50% less Pure Essence

R37. Precious Essence <Tactic> You have a 20% chance that your next ability will cost no Pure Essence. This effect cannot occur more than once every 4 seconds.

R39. Enchantress’s Acolyte <Tactic> You take 25% less damage from all self damaging abilities

R40. Unleash the Winds <Archtype Morale 4> Deals 1800 damage to all enemies within 30 feet, and knocks them away from you.

R40. Mist of the Lake <Chaste Soul> You send forth the thick mists of the Lake to shroud the battlefield, the mists has a 30 foot diameter and lasts for 10 seconds. Any enemies that enter the mist take ‘x’ spiritual damage every second in the mist; also their chance to critically hit or heal is reduced by 10% for 10 seconds upon coming into contact with the mist. This ability requires 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 25% chance to damage you and any friendly targets in the field of fire for ‘x’. 45AP, 1s Cast, 20s CD, 100ft Range

R7. Plentiful Waters <Tactic> Sacred Waters abilities cost 25% less Action Points

R9. Slippery Grip – You cause your opponent’s hand to become slick as ice, dealing ‘x’ elemental damage and disarming them for 4 seconds. This ability costs 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 35AP, 1.5s Cast, 20s CD, 100ft Range

R11. Lady’s Messenger <Tactic> Your Sacred Waters abilities have a 10% higher chance to critically hit

R13. Bretonnia’s Sorrow – The sorrow of the land fills your turbulent soul as you unleash a powerful blast on your enemy dealing ‘x’ elemental damage. This ability costs 15 Pure Essence. This ability has a 35% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 40AP, 3s Cast, 8s CD, 100ft Range

R15. Tide of War <Morale 4> You focus on your target and deal 800 elemental damage per second for 6 seconds to your enemy. This ability will end if you break your concentration.

Pure Blood

R3. Universal Purge <Tactic> Purge Corruption’s final tick is three times as strong

R5. Lethargy – You cause your opponent’s blood to slow down, filling your enemy with weariness. You deal ‘x’ corporeal damage to them and decrease the effectiveness of any healing spells they cast by 50% for 10 seconds. This ability costs 5 Pure Essence. This ability has a 20% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 30AP, 1s Cast, 10s CD, 80ft Range

R7. Ivory Hand <Tactic> All abilities do 15% more damage if your target is within 40 feet of you

R9. Coughing Blood – You cause your opponent’s lungs to fill up with blood which he coughs up. You deal ‘x’ corporeal damage to them every second for 8 seconds, the final tick deals ‘x’ corporeal damage. This ability costs 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 35% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 35AP, 1.5s Cast, 15s CD, 60ft Range

R11. Ending Damnation <Tactic> All Pure Blood abilities gain 15 feet to their range

R13. Cleansing Evil – You cast a powerful purging spell on your enemy making them an unwilling host for purity, dealing ‘x’ corporeal damage every second for 6 seconds and on the final tick dealing ‘x’ corporeal damage to all enemies within 35 feet of your target. This ability costs 15 Pure Essence. This ability has a 30% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 40AP, 1.5s Cast, 15s CD, 60ft Range

R15. Destruction Destroyed <Morale 4> You deal 1000 corporeal damage to your target every second for 3 seconds.

Chaste Soul

R3. Powerful Winds <Tactic> Updraft’s area of effect range is increased by 10 feet

R5. Cavalier’s Spirit – You are filled with the spirit of the noble men of Bretonnia and deal ‘x’ spiritual damage to all enemies within 40 feet of you and knock them back a medium distance. This ability costs 10 Pure Essence. This ability has a 15% chance to damage you for ‘x’. 35AP, Instant Cast, 30s CD, No Range

R7. Lost in the Mist <Tactic> Mist of the Lake also reduces your enemies’ initiative by ‘x’ for 10 seconds

R9. Winds of Salvation – You unleash the powerful chaste winds on a spot on the ground that last for 10 seconds. Any enemies within 30 feet of this spot take ‘x’ spiritual damage per second that they are in it. This ability costs 15 Pure Essence. This ability has a 30% chance to damage you and all friendly players in the field of fire for ‘x’. 35AP, 2s Cast, 30s CD, 100ft Range

R11. Virtue Fights With Us! <Tactic> Chaste Soul abilities have a 15% lower chance to damage friendly players

R13. Holy Shockwave – The Lady of the Lake uses you to channel her holiness. From your soul you emit a blast of holiness that penetrates the souls of the evil. You deal ‘x’ spiritual damage to all enemies within 200 feet of you. This ability costs 15 Pure Essence. This ability has a 40% chance to damage you and all friendly targets within the field of fire for ‘x’. 45Ap, 3s Cast, 10s CD, No Range

R15. Soul of Bretonnia <Morale 4> You focus on a spot on the ground and send forth the holiest of souls from Bretonnia to it, dealing 2400 spiritual damage to all enemies within 30 feet of it. This ability will not harm friendly players.

    I love this take on aoe. And… I would totally play a Bretonnian as you have written them up. The other classes are very interesting to me but I’m such a chick. I love the mechanics *and* the art for these.

      Yes, but the AoE can hurt your allies too😉

    But I love that it can hurt your allies because then you have to be really smart about your use of the aoe and it’s position. I mean it’s a hard mechanic but it enforces an aoe balance with the mechanic rather than taking the nerf bat to the damage numbers later. But yeah… spirit damage. Hot.
