Burning Sands Guide

v1.6.3a consists of the Burning Sands Live Event. The Live Event has 9 tasks for each realm, with a title unlocked after completing all 9 tasks. Like prior Live Events, this Live Event also ushers in new content, early access to this new content is determined by the winning realm in a ‘realm-pool competition’. Players individually contribute to a realm-pool via collecting resources in the ORvR lakes, but the victor is determined by the success of the whole realm. The winning realm will have 5 days early access to the new content. Will you brave the sands of Zandri and push the exploration deeper into the dangerous lands of the Tomb Kings? Or will you fail your realm and let the enemy beat you in the expedition race?

Order

  • Hear the tale of the Nehekhara’s treasure in the Bars of Altdorf. Adventurers return from the fringes of the vast desert with tales of hidden treasures and the lost ancient civilization. Go to one of the thriving bars of Altdorf and listen to the tale of the downfall of Nehekhara and the rise of Khemri.
  • Journey into the ORvR lakes and collect 20 Expedition Supplies for your realm, Expedition Supplies are found around Battlefield Objectives.
  • Participate in the siege of the enemy warcamp in Zandri. The enemy has set foot in the Land of the Dead, their efforts to establish a foothold in the port city of Zandri must be stopped! The longer the forces of Order can hold them off, the better their chances of securing routes inland.
  • Complete the Mausoleum of the Red Sun scenario 20 times.
  • Win the Mausoleum of the Red Sun scenario with 500 points 5 times.
  • Participate in the Library of Zandri Public Quest in Zandri.
  • Participate in the Hall of the Heavens Public Quest in Zandri.
  • Complete the ‘Waters of Nehekhara’ Quest. After having heard the tales of the lost civilization of Nehekhara and the fate that befell it, you are driven to learn more. Go to the Library of Altdorf and speak with Thorhad Ironcrusher, one of the few dwarves to have seen the depths of Nehekhara, and ask what he knows about the Land of the Dead and its dark heart. The key to the desert and exploring its depths is water, naturally. However, no regular water will suffice for the journey you aspire to make, no you must seek the right waters from the corrupted springs of Zandri and attempt to purify it so it will sustain you as it once sustained the Nehekharans. Collect three samples: one from the River Mortis, one from an oasis in the desert by the necropolis, and one from the pool near the Tomb of the Vulture Lord. Return with these samples to Conrad Lunnow in the Order Warcamp in Zandri to see what he can make of them. The waters prove unsuitable to preserve life, Nagash’s taint has deeply scarred them. You must seek a source which the Nehekharan’s themselves sought to use for immortality, go into the Tomb of the Vulture Lord and obtain a sample of the waters from the deep well near the chamber of the Vulture Lord. Return with these waters to the Supreme Patriarch Thyrus Gormann in Altdorf for a purifying ritual. The last step of your journey is to test the waters and journey out into the desert wilderness.
  • Find the Oasis of Eternity. Beyond Zandri lays the vast desert separating this necropolis from the other necropoles of the Tomb Kings, a desert dominated by a raging sandstorm meant to keep invaders at bay. Somewhere in this raging sandstorm is the Oasis of Eternity, a true sanctuary in this wilderness. This oasis will prove to be the gateway to the dark depths of the Land of the Dead. Using the Cartographer’s Map and the Waters of Eternity seek out the Oasis of Eternity.

Destruction

  • Hear the tale of the Nehekhara’s treasure in the halls of the Inevitable City. Dark Elf Shades hear many whispers in their travels and return from Altdorf with tales of hidden treasures and the lost ancient civilization of the Nehekharans. Go to one of the various establishments of the Inevitable City and listen to the tale of the downfall of Nehekhara and the rise of Khemri.
  • Journey into the ORvR lakes and collect 20 Expedition Supplies for your realm, Expedition Supplies are found around Battlefield Objectives.
  • Participate in the siege of the enemy warcamp in Zandri. The forces of Order think that they have succeeded in exploring the desert of Zandri unnoticed, but nothing escapes the eyes of the forces of Destruction. Go to their warcamp and lay siege to it in order to slow their efforts and allow the forces of Destruction time to launch their own expedition.
  • Complete the Mausoleum of the Red Sun scenario 20 times.
  • Win the Mausoleum of the Red Sun scenario with 500 points 5 times.
  • Participate in the Library of Zandri Public Quest in Zandri.
  • Participate in the Hall of the Heavens Public Quest in Zandri.
  • Complete the ‘Waters of Nehekhara’ Quest. After having heard the tales of the lost civilization of Nehekhara and the fate that befell it, you are driven to learn more. Return with these samples to Cyrill Raventonuge in the Destruction Warcamp in Zandri to see what she can make of them.
