Soldiers of WAR Guide

v1.7.1 consists of the Soldiers of WAR live event and a patch that addresses armor mitigation. The Soldiers of WAR live event consists of only 6 live event tasks. This live event is meant to involve players in the vicious struggle over Saphery as they participate in both a quest line and in the Maze of Saphery scenario. Can the forces of Destruction prevent the archmages of Hoeth from completing their spell or will the High Elves and the forces of Order prevail and keep Destruction at bay? Much is at stake as both realms prepare to usher in the Soldiers of WAR…

Destruction

  • Slay 100 High Elf Players. The first task is simple yet necessary, slay the High Elves that dare defend Saphery.
  • Participate in the Maze of Saphery scenario 20 times.
  • Win the Maze of Saphery scenario with 500 points 5 times.
  • Capture and hold the Font of Ghyran within the Maze of Saphery for the duration of the scenario.
  • Find the slain High Elf guard within the Maze of Saphery and collect his helm. The Maze of Saphery contains many hidden alcoves and shifting walls; somewhere within its walls a slain defender lays entangled with a Flayerkin. Find the High Elf and claim his helm as a prize, which will do much to demoralize the defenders of Saphery.
  • Complete the Guise of War quest. The vile archmage Teclis is known to reside in Saphery near the White Tower, it would do well to slay him if possible. Journey to Saphery and search the Spire of Teclis for any clues regarding his whereabouts. / The archmage is no where to be found, but this is no matter, the task at hand is to slay as many archmages of Hoeth to prevent them from gathering to perform their incantation. Travel through the maze of Saphery and find a way to the center, once there interact with the font of Ghyran to learn of a way to the White Tower. / Cursed font! It has turned you into a stag and now a pack of hounds hunt you down! Flee the maze and fight for your life! / So you’ve not only survived the hunt, but you’ve managed to find a way to the White Tower… wonderful news. Malekith’s assassins report that Teclis is in fact not in Saphery, but has left the incantation in the hands of another archmage who begins the ritual nearby… Journey to the White Tower and peer into the Font of Hysh to learn of the archmages whereabouts. / Her name is Ferenelle Starsight, a powerful archmage who has begun to gather the archmages of Saphery at the Starsight Mansion to the east. Defended by the champions of Saphery, assaulting the mansion will no doubt be a difficult task but she must die. Slay her and take her staff as proof of your deed.

Order

  • Slay 100 Dark Elf Players. The first task for the defenders of Saphery is to slay the dark cousins who dare defile its peace.
  • Participate in the Maze of Saphery scenario 20 times.
  • Win the Maze of Saphery scenario with 500 points 5 times.
  • Capture and hold the Font of Ghyran within the Maze of Saphery for the duration of the scenario.
  • Find the slain Flayerkin intruder within the Maze of Saphery and collect his helm. The Maze of Saphery contains many hidden alcoves and shifting walls; somewhere within its walls a slain defender lays entangled with a Flayerkin. Find the Flayerkin and claim his helm to show the forces of Destruction that the High Elves will not let Saphery fall.
  • Complete the Trail of Teclis quest. Teclis has sent you forth to ensure that the Druchii do not succeed in interrupting the incantation to cover the world in a dense fog. Your first task is to journey to his tower in Saphery and contact his trusted steward with the next portion of your mission. For the safety of the realm, Teclis’s instructions have been intrusted in parts with different individuals so one person does not bear all the knowledge lest they fall into enemy hands. / Saphery is under siege from the Inner Sea; the forces of Destruction have pushed into Avelorn and begun to fell its forests to assault the shores of Saphery. There is little time and the land cries out in pain as the forces of Destruction ravage Ulthuan. Journey into the maze of Saphery and peer into the Font of Ghyran to find a way to cure the land. / The source of Saphery’s pain has been discovered, the forces of Chaos and the Crimson Shroud necromancers assault eastern Saphery with dark magics which corrupt the land and cause great suffering. To reach these distant lands Ghyran has turned you into a great eagle, but your journey will be perilous as manticores prowl the skies. Fly to the Platinum Tower with great haste where Ghyran has indicated much harm has been done to the land. / The Platinum Tower is under assault by the Raven Host! The powerful archmage of Ghyran, Bereal Plainstalker, lays under siege and is being prevented from attending the grand meeting of archmages. Slay the Raven Host that is laying siege to the tower and speak with Bereal Plainstalker to learn where the main Druchii force Malekith has sent to slay the archmages has gathered. / Herissa Frosthand, a foul creature of the Dreadblight Convent has been ordered to slay the archmages of Saphery. At her disposal is a mighty host of Naggaroth fit to threaten Saphery. They have laid siege to the town of Silverglass and garrisoned their position in the southern portion of the town. Battle your way through the champions of the House Uthorin and slay Herissa Frosthand to ensure that the archmages are not threatened. Claim her staff as proof of her death.
