Optimate ~ Border Prince HDPS

February 19, 2021 Leave a comment

“What a beautiful sight it was to see the ranks of the optimates in action. A bloody melee as the orc boar boy cavalry crashed into their defensive line, only to be slaughtered. One could not help but wonder if under those stern face masks they smiled as the orcs and their boars squealed in pain as they were impaled in their fool-hearty attack. These masks made them look all the more imposing, and less human, almost as if the taking of life had no emotional impact on them. The orcs don’t seem to mind the emotional emptiness of their foes, but I suspect more civilized races would find it unsettling to face a foe who looks upon their death with apathy and indifference.”

Irongut ~ Ogre HDPS

December 30, 2020 Leave a comment

“Such strenght, such raw strength, wasted on the likes of the ogres ironguts. They slay in the name of an insatiable hunger, the thrill of the fight, and nothing more. Destruction needs purpose if it is to please the Chaos gods. We pay them in coin and meat not because we need them to win this war, or because they may one day serve a greater purpose, but because they excel at killing and their loss does not weaken the advance of Chaos. The ogre mind is unlikely to be shaped by Tzeentch or tempted by Slaanesh, but if it takes down two score Kislevites before a cannon-shot parts its head from its body, all the better.”

Skull Reaper ~ Khorne HDPS

April 30, 2012 Leave a comment

“Laying chained to the floor facing up are among the strongest Norsemen; but their strength is nothing compared to what it will be when Khorne’s blood fills their soul with a yearning to kill. Above these men is an iron grate – the floor of a massive arena where daemons fight each other. As the daemons are wounded and slain, their blood drips through the grate down onto the men below. All are christened as the blood drips on their bodies – these will be Khorne’s warriors. The lucky catch the blood on their tongues as it drips into their mouths – these will have a daemonic appetite for blood drive them. But a select few lay there with chains strapped across their chest watching the bloodbath above and are blessed to have a droplet of blood fall onto their eye – these are filled with the spirit and soul of a bloodletter, these are the Skull Reapers.”

Boyar ~ Kislev HDPS

April 29, 2012 Leave a comment

‘Twenty three winters ago the fate of Kislev lay on the balances. Most of you are too young to remember those days, but that you live is a testament to capability of men like me… men greater than me! In that winter the skaven emerged from Hell Pit and joined forces with the Norse in a great northern onslaught. Whether they actually worked together or it was a mere coincidence no one can say, but what is for certain is that the combined numbers of those two great hordes of wild creatures almost broke Kislev. But we prevailed, Kislev prevailed. The boyars held the lines and never let Kislev falter. Every son of Kislev should strive to  become a noble, but even more so, every son of Kislev should strive to earn the prestige in battle to become one of the Tsarina’s Boyars!”

September 16, 2011 Leave a comment

“Never before have you seen such an imposing host among the armies of the Empire. Dressed in such finery, equipped with gleaming blades, standing tall and strong, the Greatswords of Carroburg are certainly an awe-inspiring force. Such is their training that a Greatsword handles their heavy blade with great precision, and with an ease that would lead one to believe they were swinging a feather in their hands. These mighty warriors are symbols of the Emperor’s authority, but woe unto any enemy that is forced to encounter them on the battlefield. Even to utter its name sends chills down my spine. The sinister Executioners thrive on the cries of the weak and defenseless, they drink the blood of fallen, they consume the flesh of the living.
