Kossar ~ Kislev MDPS

December 12, 2011 Leave a comment

In times of war the winged lancers ride out and win glory on the battlefield; their valor earns them much praise and songs of honor. But there are those who shed blood on Kislev’s behalf even though they are not bound to fight, those who die and sacrifice much and receive no praise. The only songs that will ever be sung in their name are funeral dirges, and perhaps if they are lucky a local bard’s tale. They are the kossars of Kislev, the common folk who inhabit the villages and countryside. They do not fight because their profession demands it, they fight because their way of life necessitates it. When war comes to Kislev, they are honor-bound to fight for their tsardom. Kislev is their mother, and they her proud sons; when war comes to Kislev, they do not hesitate to answer the call to rise to her defense.

~ Linz Troppe, Anthropologist of Altdorf

A Pleasure to Kill

December 11, 2011 Leave a comment

Lured into Death’s Embrace by Gregorius Volff of Erengrad

v1.8.4b

Kislev, which has already taken on so much suffering and bloodshed to protect the realm of men against the winds of Chaos, now faces a new threat. The Dark Elves’ plot to lure the hosts of Slaanesh into the war has worked, though not without much effort to win over Khorne and prove to him that his weaker brother could prove of use in war. Now the hosts of Slaanesh march south to join Khorne’s armies in their struggle to break Kislev, and under one banner shall they unite to bring death and suffering to the peoples of Kislev. Kislev stands alone to bear the brunt of the attack, she must look to her own for her defenses.

Forming the core of the host marching to join Khorne are the Pleasure Cultists of Slaanesh, sinister women lured by the promises of Slaanesh and twisted by his ill will. For Slaanesh, beauty and perfection are paramount, and his minions must reflect this. The Pleasure Cultists are models of Slaanesh’s vision both in his perception of beauty, and in their ability to cause great pain and suffering.

Facing a new threat, the Tsarina of Kislev is forced to demand more of her people. Thus far the war has been waged by career soldiers and the most devout of the followers of Ursun, but with such a massive host approaching more must sacrifice for the sake of Kislev. Called onto the battlefield in the defense of not only Kislev, but of all of humanity are the Kossars of Kislev – the backbone and muscle of society, the common folk. War touches all, and none suffer more than the commoners, but now the Kossars must take a stand and fight to repel the hosts of Slaanesh.

Order players who acquired the Massing of Defenders Edict in the Savage Reprisal live event have two weeks early access to the Kossar. Destruction players who acquired the Barbed Whip in the Savage Reprisal live event have two weeks early access to the Pleasure Cultist

“Blood for the Blood God! Yes my lowly minions, blood! Kill the weak! Kill those who are unworthy to have Khorne feed on their blood! Priest of Ursun – Kislev Healer

July 20, 2011 3 comments

“There are men in Kislev who devote their lives in devotion to Ursun and the land. These men spend much of their lives wandering the wilderness of Kislev in an attempt to deepen their faith and understanding of the ways of Ursun. It is in this time in the wild that the Priests of Ursun develop a close bond the divine ways of Ursun and the martial skills that allow them to survive on their own in the harsh wild. Having acquired a deep understanding of the beasts of the wild, the Priests of Ursun are blessed by Ursun to a degree where they can harness the powers of the wild. Once a Priest of Ursun feels he has established a solid conduit with Ursun and the land, they return to the villages to preach the ways of Ursun to the people. No men have a deeper understanding of the wild.” Kislevite Village Lore

The Might of Ursun by Gregorius Volff of Erengrad

v1.6.2b

Norsca, a harsh land resting in the shadow of Chaos. The influence of southern gods like Sigmar and Ursun do not penetrate deep into this harsh land. No, this rugged land and its forsaken people are left to the whims of the Chaos gods. When Khorne was drawn into the greater struggle of the forces of Destruction against the forces of Order he sought to enlarge his army at the expense of the Norscan tribes. The Griffon Order quickly pushed into Norsca to aid their Kislev allies against the new threat in the north, but a strong counter offensive could not be established in a region so heavily dominated by the forces of Chaos. Any efforts to stop Khorne’s advance were met with bloodshed, and such events only served to drive the Blood God further.

A firmer resolve was needed to counter the influences of Chaos in the untamed realms of Norsca. Called from the wilderness of the lands surrounding Kislev were the pious men devoted to the Kislevite god Ursun, the Priests of Ursun. The Priests of Ursun spend much of their lives living in the wilderness to grow in closer union with Ursun. Perhaps these men of the wild and the bear-god are the link between humanity and the peoples of Norsca, who love on the edge of humanity. Born of an equally zealous constitution are the Bloodflayers of Khorne, bloody fanatics who spill blood in the name of Khorne and tell their disciples to ‘feed off of the weak.’ In the harsh lands of Norsca the Priests of Ursun and the Bloodflayers meet in an attempt to claim the souls of Norsca for their own.

The realm which gathered the most Organs during the Norscan Fate Live Event wins 3 weeks early access to the two new classes, the losing realm gets 10 days early access. Destruction players who soaked Norsca with blood and earned the Elite Reward from the Norscan Fate Live Event, the Crude Flaying Implement, can create a Bloodflayer up to three weeks earlier than their weaker allies. Order players who displayed the determination to preserve civilization and earned the Elite Reward from the Norscan Fate Live Event, the Blood-Hammer of Ursun, can create a Priest of Ursun up to three weeks earlier than their less committed allies. As Khorne’s army grows, can the pious men of Kislev slow the blood-tide?

Scion of Khorne – Khorne Tank

July 14, 2011 6 comments

“Some men grow weak at the sight of blood, others are unmoved by the sight of blood, and there still some men who are driven forward at the thought of bloodshed. But there are few men who thirst for blood. I do not mean a metaphorical thirst, but an actual daemonic thirst from within – the desire to consume the blood of other men. It is these men, the blood-crazed, that we must keep a vigilant eye for. Here in the northern reaches of human civilization the weak of mind are preyed upon by the Chaos gods, and the worst we can face are those preyed upon by Khorne. It is we, the men of Kislev, who are the first line of defense of humanity against the horrors of Khorne. And it is we, the men of Kislev, who shall be the first to die if we do not keep a vigilant eye on the icy mountains to the east. From there come the Scions of Khorne, men who scream like wild beasts and fight like daemons. Those are the blood-crazed men, and they will stop at nothing to have at your blood.” Colonel Bukarov of the Fortress of Zenilev

Grypon Lancer – Kislev Tank

July 13, 2011 5 comments

“In the dark days the savage hordes of Norsemen descended upon the fair plains of Kislev. Driven mad by the twisted Chaos gods, these men were laying waste to the country and moving through the Northern Wastes towards Erengrad. Frontiers outposts were overrun and their garrisons were massacred by the savages; Erengrad was facing a devastating tide. It was then that the famed Gryphon Legion rushed across the steppes to face the children of Chaos. As the thousands of savages descended upon the outskirts of Erengrad, the Gryphon Legion appeared on the eastern horizon. With dawn setting in, the sun light reflected off the Legion’s polished armor; it was as if a beacon of divine light had shone to give the city hope. Outnumbered at least ten to one, the Gryphon Legion charged forward to strike down the Chaos horde. Shining plate mail, wings bedecked with eagle feathers, leopard skins as cloaks. A sight to strike fear in the hearts of any. Against all odds the five hundred men of the Gryphon Legion charged forth to decimate the foes of Kislev and the carnage that ensued was deafening. This city’s existence is a testament to their valor.” Yuri Pavlov, Royal Historian of Kislev
