Akrites ~ Border Prince RDPS

February 10, 2021 Leave a comment

“While Hochland may be known for its long rifle, a true marksman knows the way of the bow. Any man, or even a boy, can fire a rifle with a day’s worth of training, but it takes years to master the bow. When my son was convicted of poaching, the elector count would hear nothing of his skill with the bow and chance at redemption in the name of the Emperor, so my son fled. The Borderlands offers men facing death another chance at life. I heard he joined the elite company of bowmen known as the Akritai, a band of men patrolling the most treacherous frontiers and forest facing the darkest of foes including beastmen and strigoi. I pray that Taal bless him and his companions, and give them courage to face the darkness before them.” – Erich Kaitel, Hochland Huntsmaster

Akrites

Archetype – Range DPS

Armor – Light

Weapon – Bow and Javelins

Mechanic – Frontier Watch

  • The only way to survive on the fringes of the Borderlands is to have an ever-alert eye, capable of noticing the slightest movement on the horizon and felling it as if your life depends on it – for it may be your dinner, or what intended to have you for dinner. In the Borderlands there is no in-between. Your keen gaze tracks every movement making it harder for them to elude you. You mark your targets and every second you accrue an additional point applying to this mark, for a maximum of 30 points. You may only have one mark active at a time.

Mastery Trees

  • Varenka Hills – A focus on bringing down heavily armored targets, with an emphasis on your javelins.
  • Mad Dog Pass – A focus on mobility and anti-melee attacks with a mix of bow and javelin attacks.
  • Howling River – A focus on anti-range attacks with an emphasis on your bowman-ship.

Hunter ~ Ogre RDPS

December 26, 2020 Leave a comment

“One almost wants to respect their solitary nature, that is until you find out they are rarely alone and their second set of eyes is stalking you. To see an ogre hunter in the wilderness is a death sentence, for they are not ones to talk and exchange pleasantries. Occasionally they come into town to barter their pelts for supplies they cannot gather or kill, but even then they are not talkers. Ogre hunters prefer to roam the wild with their loyal sabertusk at their side. Two predators working in unison to bring down a kill and feast on fresh flesh. If you see or hear them, it’s already too late for you.” – Vaslav Tzanko, Ungol Horsemaster

Hunter

Archetype – Range DPS

Armor – Light

Weapon – Crossbow & Maul

Mechanic – Sabertusk’s Bloodscent

  • The ogre hunter often travels alone, but there are some amongst the hunters who pack-hunt with a sabertusk they have formed a bond with. There is no training involved, it is rather a pact of an innate killer instinct that links the two. As the hunter attacks his target and wounds them, the sabertusk grows stronger as its Bloodscent increases its appetite. When using long range abilities at 100 feet, the hunter builds 1 Bloodscent point; at 60 feet 2 Bloodscent points; and at 30 feet or lower 3 Bloodscent points. The Bloodcent pool has a maximum of 10 points. These points make your sabertusk more lethal and allow for unique bursts of activity from the sabertusk to work in tandem with the ogre hunter.

Mastery Trees

  • Beaststalker – A focus on long range attacks to bring your prey down.
  • Eyebiter- A focus on medium range attacks to weaken your prey.
  • Gutfeeder – A focus on melee attacks and synchronized fighting with your sabretusk.

Whaler ~ Norse RDPS

May 17, 2015 Leave a comment

whaler“Those eyes, those eyes that see through the fog. Not one pair, but two. Few would dare the tempest of the frigid northern waters, and even fewer would dare the creatures which reign in those waters – waters so black that surely Chaos courses with the currents. To some they are brave, to others they are fools, but the Whalers of Norsca are among the bravest fools that sailed the Kraken Sea. Whether need or greed caused them to set forth into the churning waters, neither storm nor beast swallowed them whole. Back they came, and back they’ll go again.” – Aesgard Pergrin, Sjoktraken Scholar

Whaler

Archetype – Range DPS

Armor – Light

Weapon – Harpoon & Skinning Dagger

Mechanic – Norscan Wolf

  • Whalers are among the few Norscan warriors bold enough to venture into the dark seas of the north, though their travels are made easier with the company of their powerful Norscan Wolves – always by the Whalers side ready to assist in the kill. Whalers can summon their Norscan Wolf to their side and switch between stances to better shape the synergy between man and beast.

Mastery Trees

  • Harpooner – A focus on long range attacks with a defensive pet
  • Hauler – A focus on medium range attacks with a mixed-utility pet
  • Spearer – A focus on melee attacks with an offensive pet.

Haruspex ~ Slaanesh RDPS

April 23, 2012 Leave a comment

You were born in agony, and you shall die in agony. You have been fed on the pain of your enemies and nourished on the suffering of the weak. When you are cut and bleed, smear your blood across your body and take joy at its warmth. You shall not know fear nor feel the cut of the enemy’s blade across your skin, for these are attributes of the pathetic and the unworthy. Embrace your own pain and turn it into pleasure. Take in the pain of those around you and forge it into a weapon that will devastate the foes of the Dark Prince. Go forth and unleash the Dark Winds for the glory of your master.

Iskar Paindrinker, Chosen of Slaanesh

Haruspex

Archetype – Range DPS

Armor – Light

Weapon – Staff

Mechanic – Winds of Agony

  • You have a pool of 200 points of Winds of Agony, the suffering harvested from all the tortured souls throughout the ages. Your abilities consume Winds of Agony and as you fight you will deplete this pool. You may harness the suffering in combat to replenish your pool of Winds of Agony.

Mastery Trees

  • Depravity – Your far reaching sense of pain allows you to focus on long ranged attacks to devastate those who fear to approach your beauty.
  • Vice – You tap into the sense of lust in your enemies as your presence overwhelms them and focus on medium ranged attacks.

Ice Witch ~ Kislev RDPS

April 22, 2012 1 comment

“We live in a world drowning in its own blood; a world where women are most often the victims. But this does not have to be so. Kislev stands at the forefront of the struggle against Chaos, and as such all our folk must prepare for the inevitable. Today you begin your lives as Ice Witches. Today you grasp your fate in your own hands and turn the tide against Chaos. Winter’s unforgiving chill now courses through your veins, use it to exact punishment and justice upon the foes of Kislev!”

~ Ice Queen Katarina, Daughter of Tsar Boris

Necrarch – Vampire Count RDPS

September 19, 2010 Leave a comment

“The most despicable of the Bloodlines if I may say so. Twisted and vile creatures with a heart longing only for destruction. I cannot see how there could ever be a union between the Necrarchs and the von Carsteins, they simply do not see eye to eye with our vision. I would sooner work with the savage strigoi than attempt to reason with a necrarch. One can see how centuries of malice has served them, twisting their soul and body alike.” Mannfred von Carstein

Necrarch

Archetype – Range DPS

Armor – Light

Weapon – Staff

Mechanic – Winds of Death

  • The Winds of Death is a dual pool of 10 points on each half. Abilities from the Path of Annihilation build points towards the pool of W’soran’s Wrath. Abilities from the Path of Devastation build points towards the pool of Nagash’s Reprisal. Abilities from the Path of Degradation do not build points towards either pool but can consume them. Each tree has a core ‘Winds of Death’ finisher which consumes the points and one ‘Winds of Death’ finisher which can be specialized into. Finishers consume the points.

Mastery Trees

  • Annihilation – A focus on single target damage
  • Devastation  – A focus on damage over time
  • Degradation – A focus on weakening your opponents

Prophetess – Bretonnian RDPS

September 13, 2010 5 comments

“Where the damsels are women gifted with magic that are pure of heart, there are those women whose souls are raging like a storm. Years of hardship and struggle have bent these women one way, and the healing hand of the Fey Enchantress another. The result is on one hand a woman of highest virtue and love of her people, and on the other hand a turbulent force sending forth destruction to the foes of Bretonnia and knowing no mercy for the dark of heart.” Ydric Tereau, Constable of the High Court of Couronne

Chameleon Skink – Lizardmen RDPS

August 31, 2010 Leave a comment

“The creatures spend hours in the jungle gathering potent poisons from plants and animals, setting traps, stalking their prey. Due to the nature of their skin one can walk but a few feet near them and never notice their presence. Ungor – Beastmen RDPS

August 24, 2010 Leave a comment

“Our patrol pushed into the deep of the forest, and I can tell you that the Forest of Shadows is no place to be in the dead of winter. We came upon a recently abandoned beastmen camp, most likely those that raided the caravan yesterday and killed everyone. We noticed a strange sight though, there were clear signs of campfires scattered across the camp, yet the camp was littered with frozen ungor corpses. No doubt the runts of the warherd are pushed far away from the warmth of the fire and succumb to the cold of winter. No matter, that much less of a problem for us to deal with.” Jurgan Fitzkarl, Captain of the Ostland Militia

Ungor

Archetype – Range DPS

Armor – Light

Weapon – Bow and Sword

Mechanic – Forest Predator

  • You channel your bestial survival instincts and enter into a predatory state granting you different abilities in combat. While out of combat you have five Predatory Skill Points which you consume to use different abilities. While in combat you gain a point every thirty seconds.
